A letter has been sent home on SeeSaw and is also available on our website regarding the potential teacher strike action.

You may be aware from media coverage, that similar to other public sector workers, some teaching unions have declared strike action.

The proposed industrial action will take place on the following dates:

Wednesday 1st February 2023

Tuesday 14th February 2023

Wednesday 15th March 2023

Thursday 16th March 2023

Teachers strike action has been well documented in the media, but I need to make you aware that this could mean a partial or full closure of the school to pupils if these strikes take place.

The strike action may impact Ysgol Tir Morfa, and all other schools across Wales, depending upon how many staff decide to take industrial action. If other schools close, this will impact our staff who have their own children at those schools.

Whilst we are still unsure of how it will affect Ysgol Tir Morfa, I want to give you advanced notice as you may want to start thinking of alternative childcare arrangements for these days in case we are required to close, some or all classes at short notice.

I will keep you up to date with the situation as much as possible, and I will inform you of the final arrangements as soon as we have any further information.
